Cookies
We use so-called cookies on our site to recognize repeated use of our offer by the same user/internet connection owner. Cookies are small text files that your internet browser stores on your computer. They serve to optimize our website and our offers. These are mostly so-called “session cookies” that are deleted after the end of your visit. However, some of these cookies may provide information to automatically recognize you again. This recognition is based on the IP address stored in the cookies. The information obtained in this way serves to optimize our offers and to facilitate your access to our site. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of our website to their full extent.
Server data
For technical reasons, the following data, among others, which your internet browser transmits to us or to our web space provider, is collected (so-called server log files):
– Browser type and version
– Operating system used
– Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
– Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
– Time of the server request
These anonymous data are stored separately from any personal data you may have provided and therefore do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about a specific person. They are evaluated for statistical purposes in order to optimize our website and our offers.
Contact options
We offer you the opportunity to contact us by email and/or via a contact form on our website. In this case, the information provided by the user will be stored for the purpose of processing his or her contact. There is no disclosure to third parties. There is also no comparison of the data collected in this way with data that may be collected by other components of our site.
Use of Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”, on our website. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website.
The information generated by these cookies, such as the time, place, and frequency of your website visit, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google in the USA and stored there.
We use Google Analytics on our website with an IP anonymization function. This means that your IP address will be truncated and thus anonymized by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity for us, and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.
According to its own statements, Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of our website to their full extent.
Furthermore, Google offers a deactivation option for the most popular browsers, which gives you more control over what data Google collects and processes. If you activate this option, no information about your website visit will be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, activation does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to any other web analytics services we may use. For more information about the deactivation option provided by Google and how to activate it, please follow this link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en
Use of Google+ Recommendation Component
We use the “+1” button from the Google+ provider Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”, on our website. Each time our website is accessed, which is equipped with such a “+1” component, this component causes the browser you are using to download a corresponding representation of the component from Google. This process informs Google which specific page of our website is currently being visited. According to Google, further evaluation of your visit will not take place if you are not logged into your Google account.
If you access our site while logged into Google, Google may collect information about your Google account, the website you recommend, your IP address, and other browser-related information when you confirm the “+1” button.
Your “+1” recommendation may be stored and made publicly available. Your Google “+1” recommendation may then appear as an indication along with your account name and possibly your photo, stored at Google, in Google services such as search results or your Google account, or elsewhere, such as websites and advertisements on the Internet. Furthermore, Google may link your visit to our site with data stored at Google. Google records this information to further improve its services. Therefore, if you want to prevent Google from collecting this data as much as possible, you must log out of your Google account before visiting our website.
You can find Google’s privacy policy regarding the “+1” button, along with all further information about the collection, transmission, and use of data by Google, your rights in this regard, and your profile setting options, here: https://developers.google.com/+/web/buttons-policy
Use of Google Maps
We use the “Google Maps” component of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”, on our website.
Each time the “Google Maps” component is called up, Google sets a cookie to process user settings and data when displaying the page with the “Google Maps” component integrated. This cookie is usually not deleted by closing the browser but expires after a certain time unless you manually delete it beforehand.
If you do not agree to this processing of your data, you have the option to deactivate the service of “Google Maps” and thus prevent the transmission of data to Google in this way. To do this, you must deactivate the JavaScript function in your browser. However, we would like to point out that in this case, you may not be able to use “Google Maps” or only to a limited extent.
The use of “Google Maps” and the information obtained via “Google Maps” is governed by Google’s terms of use
http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/terms/regional.html
and the additional terms and conditions for “Google Maps”
https://www.google.com/intl/en_us/help/terms_maps.html.
Use of Social Media Share
We use the c’t project “Shariff” on our website. “Shariff” replaces the usual share buttons of social networks and thereby protects your surfing behavior.
“Shariff” only integrates these share buttons of social networks as graphics on our website, which contain a link to the respective social network. By clicking on the corresponding graphic, you will be redirected to the service of the respective network. The Shariff button only establishes direct contact between the social network and our visitors when the visitor actively clicks on the share button. Only then will your data be transmitted to the respective social network. If the Shariff button is not clicked, no exchange takes place between you and the social networks. For more information about the c’t project “Shariff,” visit http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons
